Tavistock Hockey Men?s 1st 2 Torbay 3 IT was the first league hockey match of the season and Tavistock, with many new and exciting players in the side, were optimistic. The game started with both sides passing the ball at speed and Tavistock creating good chances in the D. Tavistock were determined to get back into the game and did so soon after the first goal with a well worked short corner executed by Honey. Tavistock went out into the second half still fighting. But the strong heat started to get to them and they were soon on the back foot with Torbay scoring a goal to take the lead. The home side continued to battle hard with excellent skill coming down the right wing from Ander Cooley, winning Tavistock some chances of scoring. One soon came from a short corner where a superb strike from the top of the D was driven into the back board by Lethbridge. But this was to be of no avail when Torbay broke again in the dying minutes to take the win. Man of the match: Ander Cooley. Tavistock 1sts 4 Bude 2 THE second game of the season brought a strongly rivalled Bude side to Tavistock and the first team were desperate for their first win of the season.
