THE environmental work of Okehampton Primary has been recognised once again as the school reached the final of the Devon Environmental Business Initiative Awards.
The school was a finalist in the environmental education category of the awards.
To reach the final, the six pupils participating were put through extensive interviews by the judging panel, who were impressed by their enthusiasm and detailed knowledge of environmental issues.
'Upcycled' items that the children had made like dresses, bags and artwork were presented to the judges as well as the work that they prepared for last year's Total Green School Award.
The children involved went to the awards ceremony at the Met Office in Exeter on November 20. The following day, Central Devon MP Mel Stride visited the school to see the work they had presented for the Total Green School Award the primary school won in May.
