A SUCCESSFUL campaign which helped Tavistock win the prestigious title of Best Food Town in the South West last year is to be expanded to cover the whole of West Devon. The Eatwise campaign was originally created by Tavistock Forward and particularly impressed the judges in last year's competition. Jeffrey Stackhouse, chairman of Eatwise, said: 'As part of that competition, we created a comprehensive web-based database covering hotels and B&Bs, pubs, restaurants, food producers, retailers and consumers, with the express purpose of putting producers and consumers in touch with one another. 'We are now expanding our area coverage to the entire West Devon borough and will shortly be updating our database to reflect foodie activities throughbout the borough.' Members of the public can check out the database on the website at http://www.tavistock-today.co.uk/eatwise">www.tavistock-today.co.uk/eatwise 'This is an interactive database where users can pass comment on the quality of any establishment they visit and any new establishments are encouraged to register, without cost, on the database,' said Mr Stackhouse.
