THE dynamic attik dance sets off on a 10-county national tour ? complete with a number of accessible local dates ?of their new work ?Crouching Chef, Hidden Waiter?.

This is a delightful tale of culinary calamity told through dance, physical theatre and live music with a healthy side order of slapstick comedy.

The story follows the fortunes of four wildly eccentric characters; a semi pro boxer, a young office girl, a stressed maitre d? and his long lost brother.

Left to fend for himself in the restaurant, the maitre d? is not a happy man. With the arrival of two beautiful guests come dark secrets, desperate longings and a figure from the past. As a power struggle develops, passions rise to boiling point and sharpened knives are drawn.

Directed and choreographed by Lois Taylor the work brings to the table creative design by Bill Mitchell of Cornwall Theatre Company ?Kneehigh? and theatre direction from Mike Ashcroft, movement director with the Royal Shakespeare Company guaranteeing audiences a veritable smorgasbord of visual and dramatic surprises.

The work has been funded by the Arts Council of England to bring high quality dance to audiences in rural areas with performances in small arts centres, village and school halls.

Choreographer Lois Taylor said: ?In this current era of TV cookery programmes and celebrity chefs the theme of food and the bizarre rituals we have built around it seemed a real hook for the audiences.?

The work features some of the country?s most inspiring and beautiful dancers, and a live double bass player.

Venues for the shows are small and will quickly sellout so audiences are advised to book in advance or miss out seeing this stunning new work.
