A GROUP of women from a West Devon café donned their trainers and ran five kilometres in aid of Cancer Research UK.

The women, from Duke's Café in Tavistock, took part in the Race for Life held in Plymouth recently, and through the generosity of their customers, managed to raise £712.56 for the charity.

Cate Kemish said: 'We are all so proud to have done this as a team and it is a great achievement to have raised so much money for Cancer Research.'

Amy Kiteley said: 'So many people suffer with cancer and we all know someone in our lives who has had to battle with this so it's such an amazing feeling to have been part of the team and raised this huge amount.'

The staff expressed thanks to their customers for sponsoring them.
