THE Duchess of Cornwall is to attend the first day of the Devon County Show on Thursday, May 15 at Westpoint, Exeter. The Duchess is president of the Devon County Agricultural Association this year and enjoyed a successful visit three years ago with HRH The Prince of Wales, who is patron of the association. Show secretary Ollie Allen said: 'We are honoured and delighted that our president is able to attend the show. We are very much looking forward to introducing her to some of the very many people who come together in May to give us an insight into their rural life - whether that's breeding livestock, lace-making or producing cheese!' She added that they were especially pleased to welcome the duchess during the Year of Food and Farming, a national campaign to help children find out more about the countryside and where their food comes from. The campaign, whose patron is The Prince of Wales, is one of the central themes running through the show.
