THIS coming weekend offers up a double whammy for Wharf regulars with the return of two popular rock bands from completely separate decades.
On Friday, not so much the kids in town but Desperado, the awesome tribute to American legends The Eagles are back in town for their annual Wharf show which always attracts a huge audience.
With their carefully worked covers of those timeless greats from the 70s that include Hotel California, Lyin’ Eyes, Take it to The Limit, One of These Nights and of course, Desperado, they can be relied on to provide an enjoyable evening’s entertainment that always leaves the audience captivated and are among one of the venue’s most requested bands to be rebooked.
And then on Saturday (May 21) upping the pace somewhat a band that travel all the way down from Teeside to play the Tavistock venue, The Bryan Adams Experience will hit the stage with a show that pulls the best and most exciting material from all eras from the Canadian rocker’s career. So whether you are a fan of the early harder rock numbers from Cuts with a Knife and Reckless through to Waking up the Neighbours which spawned the monster Everything I Do to the current album Get Up and single I Belong to You, this engaging and popular band will come up with the goods.
Expect to hear Run to You, Summer of 69, Kids Wanna Rock and the big hitters played at full force.
Of particular note must be the likeness between singer Stuart Brown and Bryan Adams himself, not just in appearance but in voice, to the extent that often fans are hoodwinked into believing that Bryan is guesting in his own tribute band!
