AS the ladies only Saturday morning track sessions at Tavistock Athletic Club continue to grow, members are getting stronger, fitter and faster and are working harder not only on the track but with other training and in local races.
Session coach Dotty Allan has therefore decided to reward these efforts by creating the 'Dotty Birds' track athlete and improver awards which are monthly awards.
The awards are given to those ladies who are making great progress, who turn out to train week after week as well as those who benchmark their improvements by taking part in races.
The awards for August were given to Leslie Cowie and Fiona Arundel for track athlete (TA), Patsy Bennett and Bonita Scaysbrook for track improver (TI); for September Jackie Ralph and Lisa Mabey (TA), Margaret Hurdwell and Kathryn Lloyd-Brimble (TI) and for September Vicki Lloyd (TA) and Debbie Tait (TI).
