THANKS to the efforts of Hatherleigh School Association the community primary has benefitted from donations of £4,300 over the past year.

The money has allowed the children to enjoy extra activities such as school trips and many other benefits.

The HSA, which held its annual meeting last week, has appointed Michelle Arnold as its secretary and Lynn Strawbridge as chairperson with Sandra Kinnest remaining as treasurer.

Members thanked Daniella Coughlin and Michelle Hayman — the retiring chairperson and secretary — for all their time and effort given over the past 12 months

The next HSA meeting is on Monday, June 8 at 7.30pm where members will start to prepare for the summer fair on Friday, July 3.

New members are always welcome — see the above in the play ground after school or call Lynn on 01837 810786.

l Hatherleigh Primary School is urging its pupils and parents to help improve the environment and their health by walking to school.

The school is hoping to encourage more children to walk during the summer term and will be sending out more information in their newsletter about a Walk to School Week.

One suggestion from the school is for a Walking Together morning for children living in the Moorview area.

Anyone who is interested in helping is asked to phone the school on 01837 810248.
