TWO dogs were found dead following a house fire on Crediton Road in Okehampton on Saturday, April 16.

Two fire appliances from Okehampton were mobilised to a report of a kitchen fire in the property at around 4.20am. The kitchen of the bungalow was severely damaged by fire.

The crews used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and a safety jet to extinguish the fire.

They also used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear the smoke that had filled the living areas and roof space of the property. An ambulance was requested to treat two adults suffering from smoke inhalation.

The dogs died as a result of the fire.
