DEVON German Shepherd Dog Rescue (DGSDR) held a Companion Dog Show in conjunction with the Rotary Club May Fayre.

The show was sponsored by local businesses in and around Okehampton and raised £344.85, with help from a raffle, tombola and the dog show entries.

Guests enjoyed a parade of some of the dogs who have been re-homed over the past few months and also featured dogs who are still waiting to be re-homed.

DGSDR expressed thanks to Brenda Randle who judged the breed classes and to Kirstin Phippard who judged the novelty classes. Thanks were also expressed to everyone who supported the show and helped raise money for the cause.

The winners for the breed classes were, Sue Baker with any variety (AV) puppy, Johann, Alison Ransom with AV Non Sporting, Dulcea, Doreen Cook with AV sporting best in show, Sophie and Roger Cooper with AV open and reserve best in show, Vella. The winners of the novelty classes were, Jon Ryder with best crossbreed, Spud, Sheelagh Knox with best veteran, Sasha, Adele and Gary Millward with best rescue and re-homed, Shep, Ken Ransom with best long coat, Keisha and Doreen Cook with best short coat, Sophie.

Most appealing eyes went to Christine Bennett with Coco and most handsome male went to Adele and Gary Millward, with Shep.

Prettiest female and best in show went to Alison Ransom with Dulcea and waggiest tail went to Sue Baker, with Isla. Best junior handler for seven to 11year olds, was won by Emily Murray with Ollie.

Dog most like owner was won by Jenny Symons with Coco and the dog the judge would like to take home and reserve best in show went to, Christine Bennett with Coco.
