THE West Devon woman who slipped on dog mess and broke her collarbone in South Zeal last month has issued a big thank you to everyone who has helped her since her accident.

Ursula Radford said she had received many cards, flowers and offers of help since the incident.

Mrs Radford said: ?The kindness shown has been quite overwhelming and very much appreciated.

?It is at times like this that one realises how lucky we are to be living in such a wonderful area among so many friends and considerate people.?

Mrs Radford said despite the publicity received after her accident, irresponsible dog owners are still allowing their pets to foul the pavements without clearing up after them.

She said there had been three such incidents between her home and the village shop recently ? the same route which is used by children on their way to school and older people on their way to the shop.

?It is not the dog to blame, just irresponsible owners,? said Mrs Radford.
