I AM currently researching my family history; and hope that someone reading this may be able to help. An Irish great-uncle of mine (John Joseph McGrath), emigrated to Argentina after serving in the British Army during the first world war.

He lived and worked on a sheep farm in Santa Cruz province, Patagonia, and married an Englishwoman in 1920. All I know of her is that she was from Devon, and that she had been previously widowed.

I do not know the name or nationality of her first husband. They possibly emigrated to the USA at some point. I am told that their marriage was childless.

This is all very thin, but if anyone recognises one of their own recent family ancestors in the information given, or can help me in any way at all, I would be very grateful.
