MAY I, on behalf of the Lamerton Parish Hall Committee, sincerely thank Mr and Mrs J Gulliford of West Hilltown Farmhouse, Lamerton, for kindly organising such a successful art exhibition and sale in their lovely home on July 8 ? it raised on amazing £651.57 for the Lamerton Sports and Community Centre Project. Special thanks to the many people who so generously donated to and supported this event. The results of the proverbs and sayings quiz were announced at the coffee morning held on July 29 ? the winners were Mrs N Taylor, Miss B J Wingett and Mrs S Taylor. Raising a staggering £640, the quiz had been set up by Miss Carol Golding and we are extremely grateful to her for once again obtaining pound for pound match funding from her employer ? Barclays Bank. Now that the building of the new centre is in progress, we need to plan the outside paved area. Anyone interested in purchasing a paving brick please contact Mrs J Eggins ? 01822 612608. Fundraising activities are set to continue with advance notice that the hugely popular cider and pasty supper with harvest auction will take place this year on Friday, September 22 at Court Barton, Lamerton, by kind permission of Drs Peter and Sarah Robbins.
