DODGERS knew this was going to be a hard match against Speedwells, who have started the season in great form.

The Speedwells shooters of Judith Stevens and Debbie Squirrel secured a four goal lead at the end of the first quarter. Dodgers rose to the challenge and their shooters were also having a good game and Speedwells lead dropped to two goals.

The last quarter saw both teams pull out the stops however Dodgers inched ahead despite the defence of Ausden and Donnelly for Speedwells and Dodgers won the match by six goals. Players of the match: Sandra Ausden (Speedwells), Liz Ash (Dodgers)

Toucans 29

Lifton Ladies 21

In the third division another close match took place between Toucans and Lifton Ladies. After a number of years out of the game, Linda Clinch for Toucans looks in great shape and has lost none of her ability to score goals.

Matched by their excellent defence Toucans looked the stronger side however Lifton Ladies were not prepared to give in. This was real end to end netball but Toucans hung on to win by eight goals. Poms: Tracey Webber (Toucans), Tori Bearham (Lifton Ladies).
