A GOLD medal, three silvers and six bronzes were won by three Kelly disability swimmers who were competing at the Disability Sport England National Swimming Champion-ships at the Ponds Forge International Pool in Sheffield last weekend.
Sixteen year-old Paralympian Ellen Keane made her mark on the championships by beating world champion Louise Watkin in the 100m IM and the 100m fly along with other notable international swimmers.
Ellen won two silver medals and had five personal best performance times in the S9 category.
Jan Langton, aged 24, from Yelverton, competing for Kelly College, struck gold in the 100m freestyle in a lifetime best of 1.32.81.
Jan, 24, was on great form over the weekend and went on to win three further bronze medals in the 200IM, 50m fly and 50m FC in the S6 category.
Sixteen year-old Michael Jones won a silver in the 100m IM and stormed to five additional best times in the 50m, 100m and 400m freestyle, 100m back and the 200m IM. Ellen, Jan and Michael are now preparing for the first round of the Paralympic trials to be held at the London Olympic Aquatic Centre in March of next year.
