DEVON Federation of Young Farmers’ Club is set to open a new YFC centre in Cheriton Bishop.

The new premises is centrally located for all clubs throughout Devon, the YFC aims to raise sufficient funds in order to renovate the new building. Currently, the federation is around £80,000 to £90,000 short of its £400,000 target.

The county organiser for Devon Young Farmers, Nick Creasy, said: ‘The new building will be the central point for the main Devon YFC office and will hold meetings and competitions as well as training events.’

The building was bought by the federation back in May, however, Nick says that plans to move its main office from its current location in Exeter had been in motion for many years.

The new centre will support the farming and rural communities by providing meeting spaces, hot desking, and the opportunity for other rural organisations to use the new building.

Nick said that the BWMB, FCN and RABI are also set to move into the new building.

The official opening day of the new centre is yet to be announced, however, Nick said that they are aiming to open before the end of the year.
