ARTISTS and craftspeople from West Devon are being sought to take part in Devon Open Studios 2008, the largest open studios event in the county organised by Devon Artist Network (DAN), which takes place from September 6 to 21. Plans for the county wide event are well underway with organisers reporting very good attendances at a series of meetings organised in each district. This year, a series of arts trail maps is being produced which will guide visitors to the venues to see the work on show. DAN Director Kate Wilson said: 'We hope this new idea will make visiting studios easier. By being able to see where the studios are in relation to each other on a map and by having a fairly small number of venues on each trail, it's going to be much easier to navigate and not intimidating in the way a large catalogue might seem.'
