THE first Tavistock AFC appointments for next season have been announced today (Thursday).
Chairman Robin Fenner says he is delighted to announce the reformation of the Under 18 side under the management of two local men who have been active and successful in Tavistock junior-minor football.
Keith Hoskins takes over as manager after many years experience of guiding young players through the ranks of Tamar Valley Thistles, culminating in his under 16 side winning their league and narrowly missing out on a league cup final place.
His assistant will be Mark Stephens, presently manager of the Tavistock Jets under sixteen side and again a man very much a hands-on figure in junior minor football.
Robin Fenner says: 'We have the benefit for the first time at under eighteen level of appointing two men with lots of experience and success over the years, capable of steering the development of young talent towards senior football here in Tavistock'.
They will become an important part of everyday life at Langsford Park and ensures that the natural progression of young talent is in the right hands.
Any young men under eighteen years of age who would wish to trial for Tavistock next season are invited to contact either Keith Hoskins on 613750 or Mark Stephens on 810953.
