AN application to install a ramp to allow access for the disabled at a West Devon village shop is being recommended for refusal by Dartmoor planners.
The Stores at South Zeal have applied to alter the existing front access steps to the building by incorporating a ramp.
No objections to the proposal have been received by Dartmoor National Park Authority?s planning committee and the scheme has the support of South Tawton Parish Council.
But planning officer Christopher Hart will recommend the committee refuses the application in favour of a revised plan.
Mr Hart?s report stated: ?The principle of a revised access, including provision for the less able, is one which is supported.
?There are however, concerns about the design of the scheme, particularly as the building is Listed and occupies an important position in the centre of the Conservation Area.?
The application will be considered by the committee when it meets on January 3.
