A GROUP of postmen put down their post bags for a day to walk several miles to help get a young boy to Euro Disney.
Eleven Tavistock and Yelverton postal workers walked from Merrivale to Horrabridge in a bid to raise money for three year old Eliot Minns from Horrabridge, who suffers from renal failure and liver cancer, to fulfil his dream of going to Euro Disney.
From hearing about the boy on his round, postman Darren Chappell decided to gather his colleagues together to help raise enough money to cover the insurance cost for Eliot to go.
Darren said: 'The walk took us about three hours. We originally wanted to raise about £900 but we managed to raise £2,500 for him.
'His parents and grandparents were overwhelmed with the amount. Everyone was so generous — I even had one lady give me a £50 cheque.'
Eliot's dream will soon become a reality as his trip has been booked for the end of September.
