FOUR police officers from Tavistock raised almost £2,500 for Cornish charity ShelterBox after they tested their survival skills on Dartmoor.
The quartet spent two days in April walking 30 miles across challenging terrain, carrying essential survival kit from ShelterBox.
Tavistock-based police community support officers Rob Walsh and Mark Canvin, Special Constable Jim Brokensha and PC Dave Pickles originally aimed to collect £1,000 for the charity so they are all really pleased with the final amount raised.
The charity provides boxes of essential survival equipment — including a tent, bed, cooking equipment and water purification kit — to help people directly affected by natural and other disasters.
The officers expressed thanks to everyone who donated money.
