IF you have a burgeoning naturalist or explorer in the family, then now?s the time to book a place on one of Cookworthy Forest?s summer activity days. Every Tuesday throughout August, children can join the forest ranger for a different taster session. On August 7, there will be a mini-beast safari and pond dipping day where kids can have a go at forest foraging and netting tiny critters. The following Tuesday, there is a chance to learn about bush craft and den building and on August 21, stalking games, and finding out what it feels like to be stalked by a predator. Finally, on Tuesday August 28, the forest is holding an orienteering and navigation day. Each session costs just £3.50 per child ? accompanying adults go free.
