THE death of an Okehampton man whose body was found in a secluded part of the town in the early hours is not being treated as suspicious. The body of 55-year-old John Raymond Drew was discovered by a member of the public in Darkey Lane, Okehampton, at around 7.45am on Friday. Police said there was a bicycle at the scene which belonged to the deceased. An ambulance crew were called and confirmed death at the scene. The man appeared to have died of natural causes. Scene of crime officers and CID officers also attended and initial police inquries ruled out the possibility of the man having been involved in a traffic collision. The man's next of kin, his brother, who lives in the Okehampton area, was informed. The road was closed at both ends for some time, while investigations were carried out.
