DARTMOOR Brewery, Devon's second largest brewery, has signed a deal that will significantly extend the distribution of its award-winning Jail Ale by appointing St Austell Brewery as its sole wholesale distributor. The new distribution deal will see St Austell Brewery, the South West's biggest licensed wholesaler of beers wines and spirits, offer Jail Ale and Dartmoor Brewery's Legend and Dartmoor IPA beers to free trade outlets across the region. St Austell Brewery's network of independent free trade pubs, inns and hotels will offer Dartmoor Brewery a stronger foothold across South West. Dartmoor Brewery will continue to manage distribution to its direct customers within the Devon heartland. Dartmoor Brewery has been brewing from the heart of the Dartmoor National Park since 1994 and produces more than 2.5-million pints of award winning real ales, using traditional brewing techniques and local Dartmoor ingredients. Appointing St Austell Brewery is the latest step in an ambitious growth plan that Dartmoor Brewery has been implementing over the last two years including the development of a new brand identity, investment in facilities and entering the export market. Head brewer at Dartmoor Brewery Mike Lunney said: 'We're excited to begin a new partnership with St Austell Brewery; their passion for craft beer is evident in their own portfolio and we look forward to working with them to make Dartmoor Brewery's beers more readily available to real ale drinkers across the South West.' Ian Blunt of St Austell Brewery said the company was 'delighted' to be working with the Dartmoor company.
