AN opportunity to get out and about on the river in a canoe to explore the Tamar and its wildlife is available in early June, but booking ends tomorrow (Friday).

The Tavistock Local Group of Devon Wildlife Trust has organised the canoe trip on the River Tamar for Sunday June 6.

Three-seater canoes will be provided by Canoe Tamar for the paddle up and back to Weir Head during the three-hour trip.

Buoyancy aids will be provided, but people are asked to wear suitable clothing for the weather, with either wellies or trainers, and a packed lunch is needed.

The trip starts at 11.30am from Morwellham Quay.

Booking for the trip is essential and places must be booked before Friday May 7. The trip will cost between £11 and £22, depending on how many people book, but children under 5 are free.

To book a place contact Fran McMurray on 01822 612460.
