DEVON again won the intercounty Blacksmiths' Gurning Competition following the St Clement's Day gathering at Sticklepath's Finch Foundry on Saturday.

Held at the Devonshire Inn after the customary dinner, the representatives from Cornwall, Devon and Warwickshire pulled a horrible variety of faces but the Pigs Ear trophy was carried off by South Zeal's 'Dartmoor Dave Denford'.
