THE annual event of the Dave Doidge Memorial darts competition held in Princetown took place on four Saturdays during January.

This year produced a new name on the trophy when Ralph Millard managed to overcome the strong challenge from Steve Williams in a thrilling five leg final.

Businesses from Tavistock, Yelverton and Princetown donated many gifts for the weekly draws amassing a total of £1,000 which will go to the Macmillan Nurses Charity fund. This brings the grand total of monies raised over the six years the competition has been running, to £5,152.

Ralph Millard, on behalf of all the organisers, thanked the people of Princetown for their support, Keith and Sara of the Plume of Feathers, Shelly and Terry at the Prince of Wales as well as Jackie and all those who gave her a helping hand.
