AN exhibition of work by the Tavistock Group of Artists with a Dartmoor theme is currently on display at the High Moorland Visitor Centre, Princetown.

The exhibition specifically compiled for the High Moorland Visitor Centre, Dartmoor Gallery, consists of framed work from about 25 members and represents a selection of Dartmoor-themed work. It is the first part of a double exhibition entitled The View from the West, which runs until April.

The Tavistock Group of Artists? work can be viewed at the gallery until Sunday, March 2; the Tavistock Camera Club will then be exhibiting from Saturday, March 8, until Wednesday, April 9.

Tavistock Group of Artists was founded in the early 1950s by Norna Beadle, the art mistress, and Marjorie Nichol, the classics and senior mistress, at what was then Tavistock Grammar School. The group has flourished since then and now boasts nearly 100 members. Working in a variety of media, the Group exhibits widely and holds a popular annual exhibition at Tavistock Town Hall.

Dartmoor National Park Authority?s High Moorland Visitor Centre at Princetown is open daily, 10am-4pm.
