WITH spring in full bloom, Kelly House is hosting a charity Pick Your Own Daffodil day on Sunday (March 25).
The picking frenzy is raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Care, of which the daffodil has long been the recognised symbol.
Kelly House, in the village of Kelly between Milton Abbot and Lifton, was a market gardening business that sent flowers to Covent Garden in London for many years before the closure of the railways, and still has many breeds of daffodils growing in the old flower fields.
All of the proceeds from the daffodil pick will go directly to the charity, helping to care for terminally ill patients in hospices throughout the UK.
The pick will take place from 10am to 5pm and the tea room will be providing tea, coffee and cakes throughout the day.
