THE West Devon village of South Zeal now has its own website ? and local residents are being urged by its creator to implement a cyber take-over and make the site their own.

The site ? http://www.south-zeal.co.uk">www.south-zeal.co.uk ? offers people the chance to get their community group, bed and breakfast, tourist attraction or service onto the internet for free.

South Zeal resident Pete Kilgannon set up the site to cover the village and also South Tawton, Sticklepath and Belstone as a hobby.

Pete said: ?I thought it would be a nice idea to share what a lovely part of the world this is with web page readers all over the world.?

Pete came up with the idea for a South Zeal site after reading about the launch of a new website for Okehampton. The site is packed with photographs of the area, and has 60 pages of information.

?It?s now up to the community,? said Pete. ?The software is available for any individual or group to be able to access their own page and change or update it at any time,? he added.

Those who want to add their businesses details but don?t have their own computer can make use of the South Zeal village Country Store which acts as a cyber cafe, with council funded facilities.
