SOME lucky students are heading for NASA, helped by sponsorship from Tesco in Callington.
A £300 cheque from Tesco was handed over last week to Callington Space Centre's 'Send A Student To NASA' appeal.
Space Centre director Mike Grocott said: 'The donation from Tesco is really appreciated. It will go towards the central fund that the students are raising for a place on this life changing trip.
'All the students are involved in a selection process to win a place on the trip — the process develops lots of skills, which Tesco recognise as being important in developing in young people today.'
During the two weeks away the students will meet and work with engineers and scientists at the cutting edge of their professions.
Alan Woollcombe, community champion for Tesco, Callington, said: 'The students at the space centre have always worked hard to raise funds for these once-in-a-lifetime opportunities at NASA, and have packed bags on several occasions in our store.'
