MEMBERS of Okehampton Friendly Circle will enjoy a day out in Hayle and new guest speakers thanks to Waitrose's Community Matters scheme.

The group received a cheque for £907 at their latest meeting from Community Matters champion Sonia Kelly. The scheme supports the community by letting customers decide how to distribute a monthly total between three local charities and organisations.

Over November and December last year, the amount was increased to £3,000 each month.
