STAFF at a West Devon hairdressers will be going cupcake crazy next month to raise money for a young boy battling with cancer.
The girls at Simply Hair in Bere Alston will be holding a cupcake and coffee afternoon in aid of the Arran Tomes Support Fund.
Arran Tomes, four, lives in the Lake District with his family but his father grew up in Bere Alston. He was recently diagnosed with Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma and now has the daunting task of undergoing chemotherapy.
Due to the nature of the lymphoma, Arran is unable to walk — a dramatic change from when he walked a mile for Comic Relief two years ago.
The chemotherapy treatment is due to last for seven to eight months.
Dawn Rolls from Simply Hair said: 'As you can imagine, the strain on his parents is huge emotionally, physically and financially.
'It is because of this that we want to support the Arran Tomes Fund, to help with the travelling and other costs relating to Arran's illness.'
The cupcake and coffee afternoon will take place at Hope Cottage in Bere Alston on Saturday April 2, from 2pm to 4pm. There will also be a raffle and various items for sale.
Dawn added: 'Your support will be gratefully appreciated.'
