CRIME writer Michael Jecks will be signing books at Tavistock Oxfam shop as part of a crime fiction promotion fortnight. More than 150 Oxfam shops nationwide will be taking part in the promotion during the last two weeks of February. Funds raised go toward Oxfam?s work with some of the world?s poorest people. Crime fiction titles are best sellers at the shops and the Tavistock one is hoping for more donations. Book volunteer Claire Heatley said: ?We know the demand is there if we can attract enough donations. Some of our customers return week after week looking for titles they haven?t read; others are collectors looking for special or out of print editions, or simply trying to complete a set.? Michael Jecks? works are popular at the shops and he will be signing books on Thursday, February 17 at 10.30am. Everyone donating a book to the shop will be invited to test their knowledge of crime fiction by entering a national crime writers quiz, with the winner receiving a set of Penguin mugs, donated by design company Art Meets Matter. Entry forms are available from the Oxfam shop at 5 Market Street, Tavistock, PL19 0DA. Donations of crime fiction are now being accepted, with the books going on sale from Saturday, February 12.
