NORTH Tawton firefighters will be one of four teams battling it out in the Devon round of the National Extraction Competition which is held in Plymouth on Saturday.
Last year the station?s road traffic accident team did not take part because the station was being rebuilt, but the year before North Tawton went on to represent Devon in the finals.
North Tawton officer in charge Twiggy Lake said: ?Competition is quite fierce and a lot of training has gone into our team of five.?
The competition is taking place at the Plymouth fire fighters? Plympton headquarters.
l North Tawton fire fighters and an appliance from Chudleigh attended a two-car collision near Winkleigh Airfield last Friday at 6.30pm.
Two people were trapped for more than one hour and had to be cut out.
The occupants sustained light injuries and were taken to Exeter hospital.
The road was closed for more than two hours.
