TAW Valley Creamery has won a prestigious safety award from the British Safety Council.

The RoSPA Gold Medal Award for Occupational Health & Safety was presented to Glanbia Foods, which operates three award-winning creameries in the UK, in addition to the Taw Valley Creamery, at a special ceremony during the Safety & Health Expo 2002.

According to judges, winners must have lower than average accident rates, good safety policies and plans, and commitment to health and safety at board level.

Colin Stump of Glanbia Foods UK, said they were delighted with the award, and the firm received congratulations — along with other winners — from Prime Minister Tony Blair.
