HUSBAND and wife Tavistock business owners Dave and Jenny Mc Dowall of Kountry Kit and Elegant Nail Studio were on a different fundraising mission recently as they held a garden party in aid of the Macmillan Nurses Fund.
The couple opened up the garden of their Tavistock home and served cream teas all afternoon to raise a grand total of more than £700 for the cancer charity.
Friends Allan and Rosie Primmer brought members of local band Porridge out of retirement to provide entertainment for the afternoon, and their renditions of old and new favourites were enjoyed by all.
Jenny and David thanked all sixty cream-tea goers and also those who could not attend the afternoon feast, particularly Jenny?s 92-year-old father who donated £100 to the cause.
They were thrilled with the afternoon?s proceeds and said they could not have managed without help from family and friends who set up furniture, donated cakes and helped to clear up - in particular they are indebted to Nigel from Ellis? Bakery who provided the scones.
