A WORKSHOP nurturing the artistic talents of pupils at Okehampton Primary has led to a display of their fantastic work.

Year 5 children took part in the school's second 'gifted and talented' art workshop, with a coastal theme. They used acrylic paints on canvas, learning skills in using a texture-based medium to mix their paints to create 3D effects on their work.

The workshop was so successful the school decided to display the paintings in the school reception.

Sally Huxen, assistant headteacher said: 'We are thrilled not only by the response from children and parents, but also by the amazing artwork produced.

'Our art workshops have been so successful next term we will be inviting children from across Devon to attend.'
