A FANTASTIC day of cricket took place recently with more than 200 children from across West Devon taking part. The event was organised by Hatherleigh Cricket Club, Hatherleigh Primary School and students from Okehampton College. Stuart Lord, the Okehampton school sports co- ordinator said: 'With over 200 children attending from ten local primary schools there was a fun atmosphere as the children were taught by the college students and cricket club coaches a series of batting, bowling and fielding skills. 'The groups who were split to mix children from all schools in together, played some Kwik cricket in the afternoon. 'It was an excellent day with the children really enjoying themselves. Special thanks should go to Richard Tidball, Brooke Osbourne and all the students.' Following the event, there will be cricket coaching days running throughout the summer holidays.
