THE Tavistock Rugby Club 'Grand Cowpat' gamble took place on Saturday, April 23 and proved a great success in raising club funds.
The club fielded two sides in an exhibition game watched by more than a 100 people.
The cow, called TwoTwoTwo, duly walked on to the new pitch after the game and, after nearly two hours checking out her new surroundings deposited her calling card in the yellow ticket section.
Jeff Lawson, TRFC's secretary, said: 'The winning ticket was bought by Andy Griffiths, a long standing club member whose wife is expecting their first child so the winner's cheque of £5,000 was very welcome.'
