Detectives have made a sixth arrest in relation to the murder of a 22-year-old man near Callington.

A 39-year-old woman from St Ive, Cornwall, was arrested yesterday, Thursday, May 21, on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and has been released on police bail until the end of June.

Callum Hill, 22, from Plymouth, was found seriously injured at Kit Hill on Saturday 26 March and died two days later from his injuries.

Detective Inspector Rob Back, from the Major Crime Investigation Team, said: “This investigation remains a high priority for our team of detectives and we would like to once again thank the community within East Cornwall for their support.”

A 24-year-old man from Callington, a 37-year-old man and a 29-year-old man from Gunnislake, have all been arrested on suspicion of murder.

In addition, a 38-year-old man and a 26-year-old man, both from Callington, have been arrested on suspicion of the attempted murder of a 37-year-old man – one of the murder suspects – during the same incident.

All suspects have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Detectives believe this to be an isolated incident between a group of males known to each other.
