A driver has admitted several motoring offences after a two-car crash on the edge of Tavistock.

Police officers were called to Whitchurch Road, Tavistock, at around 2.30pm on Tuesday, September 8, following reports of a collision between two cars.

Stephen Ready, 45, of Pembroke Street, Plymouth, was later found by police away from the scene and arrested.

He was subsequently charged with driving a motor vehicle and failing to stop after a road accident, driving while disqualified, using a motor vehicle on a road or public place without third party insurance and using a motor vehicle on a road without a valid test certificate.

Ready appeared at Plymouth Magistrates’ Court yesterday, Thursday, September 10, and pleaded guilty to all of the charges.

The case has been adjourned until Friday, October 30, for pre-sentencing reports. Ready was remanded on bail.

A police statement, issued soon after the crash, said the incident involved a Vauxhall Astra and a Vauxhall Corsa and that the second driver, of the Corsa, was uninjured.
