THE final total raised by a 'Garden Cream Teas' fundraiser in Bratton Clovelly stands at £950. Pat and Eric Vanstone began making scones at 6am in preparation for the event held at their home, and people came from far and near to enjoy the Devon cream teas and to raise money for Breast Cancer Care. The event proved so popular, the couple had to draft in extra crockery from the parish hall and friends and neighbours provided prizes for a well supported raffle. Local police officer PC David Pickles stopped by to give his support, having seen the number of vehicles that thronged the small rural location.
