SO Debo Sellis wants us to start clearing drains (Letters, October 10), why not get us to do all the work that should be being done by the local authority in the first place?

I would also ask her why the roundabouts in Tavistock have been allowed to become slippery before rectification work is carried out. These roundabouts should be resurfaced before they become a danger to road users.

Debo Sellis would be better advised, as our elected representative, to ensure the county council carries out its responsibilities, which, after all, we all pay for through very high community charges.
