STUART Tremaine from Tavistock Primary School was one of Devon?s hardworking lollipop men and women awarded for their services at a special ceremony this week.

Mr Tremaine received a bronze award for five years service by Devon County Council along with 18 other school crossing patrols at the Devon Drivers? Centre at Westpoint, Clyst St Mary.

Devon County Council vice-chairman Cllr Michael Lee presented bronze, silver, diamond and platinum badges to mark the completion of service ranging from five to 25 years.

Cllr Lee said: ?On behalf of the county council I wish to thank the patrols for their hard work and dedication and for turning out, whatever the weather, to ensure thousands of Devon schoolchildren get to and from school safely.?
