DISCERNING art lovers can enjoy the work of some of the UK?s most famous artists living in Devon, as well as uncover some of the county?s best-kept artistic secrets, thanks to the largest Open Studio event in Devon. The organisers of Nine Days of Art have already assembled almost 400 artists and craftspeople who will be exhibiting in September, from such diverse locations as gardens, barns and village halls and from high street galleries to quiet country lanes. Devon has a natural wealth of artistic and creative talent and has been inspiring artists for thousands of years, with its irresistible combination of local charm and awe inspiring natural beauty. Where else would you find new and emerging names exhibiting alongside internationally established artists? This is what Nine Days of Art is about ? providing art inspired by the natural beauty of Devon, created from the materials to be found here and by artists who live here. Full colour guides set out the art trails, with details of the participating artists, venues, and galleries, and will raise awareness of the richness and depth of creative industry in rural Devon.
