I WOULD like to thank Cllr Christine Marsh for her reply to M Bryant's letter (May 6) for confirming what we all suspected.
This now brings the whole proposed core strategy into question.
What was the point of consulting the general public, on several occasions, wasting their time and in some cases money?
I call upon the members of West Devon Borough Council to ask for the proposed core strategy to be recalled and started again from scratch.
Members of the public that I have spoken to have no confidence whatsoever in West Devon Borough Council and this needs to be restored.

THE letter from Cllr Christine Marsh (May 13) raises a number of issues about the whole process used in deciding the outcome of the core strategy decision, and to a large extent the future of Okehampton.
How can councillors be substituted, for such an important vote? Does the fact that it was known that at least one of them would have voted against the core strategy have any bearing on this?
Replies from the chairperson would be a great interest to the many residents who may have voted for these councillors to represent their interests.

I WAS amazed to read the letter from Mr and Mrs Bryant in your issue (May 6) about the core strategy.
I understand that Mrs Marsh did not attend the meeting mentioned on the instruction of the not entirely obvious.
I would have thought that anyone active in public affairs in Okehampton would recognise the immense amount of work that Mrs Marsh does for the good of, not only Okehampton, but Devon itself.
