CORNWALL Council's contractors Cory have admitted there have been teething problems with some aspects of the new waste contract after complaints about dog bins in Gunnislake not being emptied.
Overflowing dog bins in Gunnislake, at the entrance to a children's play area and visitors' centre, outraged parish councillors.
But Cory said this week its environmental department was liaising with the parish council and had now emptied the dog waste bins in Gunnislake.
Cllrs Ian Kirk and Mike Greenwood said they made repeated attempts to contact Cornwall Council's environmental health department but with little result.
They were particularly concerned about the bins at Kingswood Road, at the entrance to King George V playing field and the one at the Tamar Valley Centre.
There have been many complaints since April, when contractors Cory took over the waste and recycling contract in Cornwall, that recycling rounds have been missed in different areas.
Communications manager for Cory Chris Brown said: 'The new service has involved an unprecedented level of change across a huge area and we are pleased that the vast majority of our services are operating well.
'Whilst there have been teething problems with some aspects of the new service, we have put extra resources in to resolve these.
'Cory Environmental is liaising with the parish council and has now emptied the dog waste bins in Gunnislake and will ensure that they are appropriately scheduled to be emptied in future.'
