A DECISION on West Devon's core strategy development plan, which went before a public examination last month, is expected to be announced before the end of March next year.

In the interim, West Devon Borough Council is consulting on minor amendments to the wording of the development plan document, following discussions with the planning inspector Paul Crysell during the public hearings.

The consultation starts today (Thursday) until Thursday February 3, 2011 and people who want to give their views can say whether they accept or reject the recommended changes, giving their reasons for doing so.

Views submitted will only be accepted to the minor amendments to the plan. Representations on the core strategy unaffected by the changes will not be considered by the inspector.

Copies of the recommended changes are available at the borough council's offices at Kilworthy Park, Tavistock and St James Street, Okehampton. They are also available to view at Okehampton and Tavistock libraries.

The documents are also available on the council's website http://www.westdevon.gov.uk/strategicplanning">www.westdevon.gov.uk/strategicplanning Any representations should be returned to the council by 5pm on Thursday February 3, 2011 and can be sent by letter to the Strategic Planning Team, West Devon Borough Council, Kilworthy Park, Tavistock, Devon PL19 0BZ; by email to [email protected]">[email protected] or by fax on 01822 813634.
